MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Winter Football League is to provide a venue to continue the development and improve the skill levels of all Youth Football players that have an interest in participating and most importantly have fun doing so.

2012 WFL FORMAT: The WFL will follow 7 on 7 rules selected to maximize playing time. All levels of Youth Football are eligible ages 8-14. High School players or programs are not eligible. The Shoreline Youth Football, American Youth Football, USA Football & Pop Warner Leagues will participate along with our third year of exhibition games with Long Island Youth Football.
2012 WFL FIRST DOWN: WFL First Down for grades 1 thru 4 is a Full Padded first time introduction to the game of Tackle Football. The goal of the program is to teach basic football fundamentals, blocking, tackling, individual football position drills, agility, rules of the game, with emphasis on teamwork, discipline and responsibility. This second year program is a great transition from Flag Football to Youth or Pop Warner Leagues. WFL First Down introduces full contact football in an off season, indoor, and fun environment. Instructed by Certified and Experienced Youth and High School Football Coaches. All equipment for the First Down program will be provided by the WFL.
COST: The registration fee of $200 will cover the rental of Helmets and Jerseys, Misc. equipment, Sportsplex, Officials, EMT's, and Insurance for players, coaches and volunteers.
EQUIPMENT: All equipment excluding helmets and jerseys must be provided to the players by their town league or another source. Molded cleats or turf shoes only.
SCHEDULE: A series of 2 practices and 6 games held once per week. The WFL starts on Sunday February 26th and runs for 8 consecutive Sundays ending on Sunday April 15th (times TBD). The first down program starts on Friday February 24th and runs for 8 consecutive Friday nights ending on Friday April 13th (5:30-7pm).
STAFF: The WFL Coaching Staffs consist of a diversified group of people with numerous years of football experience ranging from Youth and High School Championship Coaches, former High School and College Standouts to Arena Football, Sports and NFL Agents. This group will provide all Youth players with a unique opportunity to improve their football skills during the off season.
