2009 FORMAT: The WFL will return to the popular format of Texas Six Man Football at the Youth and Junior Level and 7 Man Football at the Senior level. This year the Shoreline Youth Football, American Youth Football & Pop Warner Leagues will participate along with possible exhibition games with Long Island Youth Football.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Winter Football League is to provide a venue to continue the development and improve the skill levels of all Youth Football players that have an interest in participating and most importantly have fun doing so.
COST:
The registration fee will cover the rental of Helmets and Jerseys, Misc. equipment, Sportsplex, Officials, EMT's, and Insurance for players, coaches and volunteers.
EQUIPMENT:
Helmets will be provided and fit by Riddell representatives. All equipment excluding helmets and
jerseys must be provided to the players by their town league or another source. Molded cleats or turf shoes
only.
SCHEDULE:
First Practice: 2/13 or 2/15 Jamboree: 2/19 or 2/20 Game 1: 2/27 or 3/1 Game 2: 3/6 or 3/8 Game 3: 3/13 Game 4: 3/20 Game 5: 3/27 or 3/29 Game 6: 4/3 – End of Season- Turn in Helmets - Click on Schedule link for Exact Practice and Game Times.
STAFF:
The WFL Coaching Staffs consist of a diversified group of people with numerous years of football experience ranging from Youth and High School Championship Coaches, former High School and College Standouts to Arena Football, Sports and NFL Agents. This group will provide all Youth players with a unique opportunity to improve their football skills during the off season.
